The Berlin Pop Choir and Ensemble winter performance was another triumph! The devilishly good HEAVEN AND HELL themed celebration took place on 20. December 2016 at the legendary SO36.

We were delighted to have Sacred Harp Berlin along as special guests, and Lyndsey Cockwell performed two songs inspired by the Heaven and Hell theme. As usual the choirs dressed up to the nines and sang as good as they looked! The audience were dancing in the isles. A huge well done to everyone who took part!

Berlin Pop Choir SIREN project collaboration at Udk Rundgang

BPC performing in the water fountain at Ernst Reuter Platz, Berlin

On 24. July 2016, The Berlin Pop Choir collaborated with artisits Isabella Fürnkäs and Carina Erdmann as part of the Udk Rundgang. SIREN was a site specific performance project organized by students of the University of the Arts in Berlin (Udk) at Ernst-Reuter-Platz – a central traffic island with a huge water fountain.

For this unique performance, we sang a specially adapted and improvised version of BPC Director Lyndsey Cockwell’s arrangement of the Malaria! classic: ‘Kaltes Klares Wasser,‘ and actually got in the water and performed a choreography. There has certainly never been a BPC performance like it!

Berlin Pop Choir summer performance 2016

Lyndsey Cockwell presented the Berlin Pop Choir and Ensemble summer performance on 14. June 2016. We worked hard for 10 weeks and were ready to show everyone what we could do! Exploding with energy, the two choirs gave the choral scene a shot in the arm with their original, contemporary arrangements, heavenly harmonies, gorgeous grooves – and their love of dressing up!

The power and moving sounds of around 200 performers singing for the pure joy of it was as infectious as ever and the Berlin Pop Choir sang ‘Last nite‘ by The Strokes, ‘Kaltes Klares Wasser‘ by Malaria!, ‘Fade to grey‘ by Visage and ‘Praise you‘ by Fatboy Slim. Hear for yourself with the youtube playlist above.

Spaced out! BPC winter performance 2015 at LIDO

On 15. December 2015 the Berlin Pop Choir had their end of course performance, for the first time at LIDO. The theme was ‘space’ and they were joined by the Berlin Pop Ensemble, Lyndsey Cockwell, Projekt Kiezchor and the 4 eyes. We sang space songs and everyone dressed up outer space style. We sold out completely and had a fabulous night. It was truly cosmic. You can see all the photos of the night on our public page on facebook Photos by Aleks Slota

Like a prayer: Berlin Pop Choir performance at MadonnaMania on 24. October 2015!

On Saturday 24. October, queer members of the Berlin Pop Choir and Berlin Pop Ensemble and friends performed at MadonnaMania – the monthly party at Schwutz in Neukölln that celebrates all things Madge. We wore silver sparkles and fluffy halos and performed 2 stone cold Madonna classics. ‘Like a prayer‘ with the fantastic Kaey and ‘Borderline‘ on our own.
